Describe your educational background. Where did / do you study, what degrees did / will you receive?
I am currently studying Corporate Management & Economics (BA) at the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen, Germany. I am planning to finish my studies in summer 2012. 

Describe your career history. What have been your professional experiences?
During my studies I did several internships, the latest and by far longest was at the M&A and Corporate Strategy department at Random House Inc., New York. Before Random House, I did two further internships in the media industry: First with the Investor Relations-, Finance- and Corporate Strategy-Department of Axel Springer AG (Berlin); on that occasion, I also wrote reports and short articles in the editorial department for the newspaper BILD. Furthermore, I had a brief stay within the marketing department of Gruner + Jahr Ltd. in London.
Additional professional experiences were an internship in marketing at Ferrero Deutschland GmbH and a strategy project with PERI GmbH, an international scaffolding enterprise. 

What attracted you to Bertelsmann and your internships? What was your favorite aspect about your job?
Most essentially, my interest for the changing media environment and the variety of opportunities at Bertelsmann, i.e. the expanding media portfolio, versatile brands and the increasing international approach to media, to content and to the digital challenge. Particularly in my last internship at Random House Inc., it was great to be part of the creative and strategic team that sets course towards the book of tomorrow.

What was / is a typical day during your internship like?
One great thing about my internship at Random House Inc. was that no day was like the other. Of course there were daily business like project management, personal assistance and basic desk jobs. But every day was filled with teamwork, meetings and multisided assistance in two major deals (acquisition and investment).

What has been your most challenging / rewarding / exciting task or project thus far?
The infilling of this questionnaire :-)

What qualities do you feel are necessary to be a successful employee at Bertelsmann?
A striking interest for digitalization and new digital media content in a changing international environment.
And of course: creativity | team spirit | divergent thinking | self-responsibility

What are your professional goals? Any others ;-) ? In short term, completing my bachelor’s degree and making the right decision on the perfect university for my master’s degree with focus on economics and family business. Furthermore, I am planning to do additional internships in strategy and consulting, as well as working abroad in South America.
On a personal level, I would love to intensify travelling to see more countries in Asia and to further improve my language skills.
