Describe your educational background. Where did / do you study, what degrees did / will you receive?
After finishing my A-levels in Gütersloh, I went abroad for half a year to Sydney, Australia. I passed the Cambridge Certificate while working as Demi Pair in a family with four children. After being back in Germany I started studying Business Administration in Münster (bachelor). In October 2011 I plan to start my master studies in Finance and Accounting.

Describe your career history. What have been your professional experiences?
Besides the two internships at Bertelsmann I did during my studies, I also worked as a student assistant at the chair of controlling and as a tutor.
Moreover I am part of the SIFE-Team Muenster (SIFE stands for Students In Free Enterprise). In addition to the work for the different projects our initiative sets off, I am responsible for the finance of our team.

What attracted you to Bertelsmann and your internships? What is / was your favorite aspect about your job?
Bertelsmann is located all over the world and has numerous lines of business. Therefore the choice for one internship is quite hard; Bertelsmann offers interesting challenges for everyone.
Bertelsmann is a unique concern as it supports young students and graduates in finding their way into business.

What qualities do you feel are necessary to be a successful employee at Bertelsmann?
Although my internships lasted only six weeks each, I realized that personal responsibility, creativity and single-mindedness are crucial for being successful and feeling comfortable with the delegated tasks.
Once you possess these qualities it is easy to learn to fulfill your work with passion and delight.

Have you had the opportunity to travel as part of your job?
As I am living in Münster and the DeutschlandCard is located in Munich I had the chance to live for six weeks (and during the „Octoberfest“) in an exciting city. Due to the short duration of my internship it was not reasonable to travel during this time.

What are your professional goals? Any others ;-) ?
As I am still at the beginning of my studies my goals concerning my desired future position are still vague. However essential for me is that I am challenged and I feel comfortable about working with my colleagues. Furthermore my work should be meaningful and has to reflect my personal interests.

If you had one word to describe Bertelsmann – what would it be?
